1) Pastels

Pastels are back and they have attitude like never before. This room by Petite Vintage Interiors has been burning up social media and hits the nail on the head for a lot of 2016 trends.

2. Black & White

In case pastels are not your cup of tea, another trend of 2015 that shows no sign of slowing down in 2016 is 'Black & White' decor. A little bit hipster and gender neutral, this trend has been seen in all aspects that make up a room – walls, cribs, bedding, toys, storage, and the list goes on. We expect this trend to continue in 2016, but we will likely start seeing some more little pops of color. Black & White looks beautiful with pretty much any other color, so it is a great flexible theme that can grow with your baby.

3. Oversized Art Prints

Upsizing art prints is the perfect way to add a focal point to a nursery and a pop of color that you and baby will love. Oversized art is trending in home decor and we will see this more and more in baby's room.

This trend seems to be picking up steam and we will be seeing more of these gorgeous woven wall hangings in all shapes and colors popping up in nurseries and kids rooms. Textural and colorful it is a natural choice for baby's room.

Move over foxes, the swans have arrived. We've started to see more swans in everything from bedding, wall art, pillows and toys and there is no end in sight.

Whether it's personalized letters, lighting bolts or clouds, marquee lights make a great alternative to a night light and add some sparkle to any room.

This trend has been picking up speed and variations of it have been seen in kids rooms of all ages. There are several types of hanging chairs, some of which can be DIY'd. Will the traditional glider be replaced?....probably not! BUT hanging chairs are a fun additional that are a great place for reading.
